The host city, Jamshedpur forms a part of Jharkhand State (India), the capital of which is Ranchi. Jharkhand is the most mineral rich state in India producing large number of minerals/ores, such as iron ores, bauxite, copper ores, limestone, dolomite, fireclay, kaolin, coal, uranium, etc. Several industries dealing with iron and steel, aluminium, copper, precious metals, uranium etc, are located within 200-250 km radius of Jamshedpur city.  Jamshedpur is well connected by road and rail to Ranchi and Kolkata, which is the nearest metropolitan city. The nearest international airport to Jamshedpur is Kolkata, from where it is possible to reach Jamshedpur by rail in about 4 hours. Few flights between Kolkata-Jamshedpur are also available. Ranchi has a domestic airport connected to Delhi, Kolkata and Mumbai. From Ranchi, it is possible to reach Jamshedpur by road in about 2 hours. Jamshedpur normally experiences extremely pleasant weather from middle of November to December - the average temperature during the day (8:00 AM to 5:00 PM) will be between 15-28 degrees Centigrade and evening (6:00 PM to 11:00 PM) temperatures between 10-20 degrees Centigrade. Several star hotels and guesthouses are available to suit foreign delegates. The city and its neighboring areas have number of spots for tourist attraction.
